the melody of Feels So Good by Chuck Mangione.

and, I wish, Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder. Can anyone here play the "the" riff (bass, horns, keys, all playing in unison)?

I usually don't sound cool... but pretty much any kind of percussive groove will make any non bassist think you are great. To a bassist, I'm sure, I never sound cool.

Where i live ,if you even pick up a bass in a store, everyone stops and goes. "Whoa,,,,a bassplayer" i then play one single note "OH MY GOD THATS AWESOME!!! You in a band?"

To sound cool, I (most of the time) play bass. that or my recorder.

"If I play these songs we do right,..."

...I just say to myself; "cool".

Whether it really is(or not), that's someone else's problem.

The RHCP version is the biggest cliche among new players with no knowledge of theory or playing in the pocket. That's one of the most played riffs at Guitar Center.

Pretty much. Although really any slap riff played over and over at high volume=Stairway.

Also a lot of people were addressing it like RHCP wrote it... it was orignially a Stevie Wonder tune.

Matt...you're so full of it, man. Yeah right...like Stevie even has an ounce of the musicianship of RHCP.
