Simon Gallup uses Thunderbirds pretty much as his main basses now- he also uses an Epiphone Jack Casady and his black custom Knight semi-acoustic occasionally.
BTW pic still not working- I'm on dialup so it might be timing-out.

I found a pic of Kinley Wolfe playing an MM Sabre with the Cult circa 1991- he never recorded with the band, but it's a nice blueburst example

This weekend I watched a DVD of The Band called The Last Waltz. The bass player played an Ampeg scroll bass on one song and what I think was a Gibson Ripper or Grabber on most of the songs.
He even had an EUB that I would guess to have been an Ampeg.
All the basses sounded really good. An excellent movie, by the way.
I don't know whether or not he uses these basses in other recordings, though.

Gibson G3: Kevin Mooney/Adam & the Ants - album "Kings Of The Wild Frontier" (very good bass lines, too!)

Gibson RD Artist: John Wetton on "Asia" 's 1st album (the one with "Heat Of The Moment" on it).

Mustang: first few Average White Band albums, Rolling Stones "Get er Ya Yas Out"

Thunderbird: all Mott the Hoople, parts of The Yes Album, first Cheap Trick album

Alembic: Stanley Clarke's self title album

EB2: Stabley Clarke BEFORE his self titled album, Yardbirds (actually an Epi Rivoli)

Wal: Brand X "Product" has the track "Wal to Wal" with Percy Jones vs. John Giblin

Magnum: Jah Wobble "Rising Above Bedlam"

Ampeg scroll head: wiht original pickup the album by United States of Americs; with a P-bass pickup Bad Co. "Straight Shooter", the Band "Rock of Ages"
