Songs that instantly make you cry

What songs really get to you and make you cry like a baby? I'm usually not too openly emotional with songs, but Jaco's Portrait of Tracy makes me tear up instantly.

I've never had a song, movie, or any other form of art move me to tears. I know I'm not the only one.

Doesn't make me cry but definately strikes an emotional chord...

Cats in the cradle by either Harry Chapin or Ugly Kid Joe.

I was lucky, I had and still have a fantastic relationship with me dad. Hes my best friend, but I had a close friend who's relationship with his dad could have been the inspiration for that song.

"Just Once" from the Quincy Jones album "The Dude" used to make me cry when I was a teenager.

"Adia" by Sarah McLachlan still gets me blubbing.

Any modern pop song makes me cry. But for the wrong reasons.

OK that made me laugh.

"In My Life" by The Beatles makes me very sad. Not necessarily crying like a baby sad, but, oh, very melancholy.

John Lennon's last single, released in 1980, just before he was murdered: "Woman". It was all over the airwaves during the weeks immediately following his passing.

It just about incapacitated me every time I heard it. To this day, it reminds me of the true love he and Yoko had for one another - and of how sad it was that he was taken out of this world, just as his personal life had finally begun to come together...

Ahh.... it might sound silly but the Pearl Jam cover of Last Kiss, and My Immortal by Evanescence are pretty much the only two songs that can make me cry lol.

I dunno I can't explain it, both those songs just break my heart every time I hear em.

Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands by Bob Dylan (album - Blonde on Blonde) puts me in a very.. sad, trance-like state, which is as close to crying as most songs have made me.
All the Wild Horses by Ray Lamontagne is potentially the saddest song I've ever heard.
Or maybe even I'm so Lonesome I could Cry, by Johnny Cash.
apparently I listen to a lot of sad music.....

This one definitely doesn't help;

A few, and for personal reasons.

We very nearly lost our son when he was a baby. He was in a coma for three weeks. Tears In Heaven by Clapton and All Of My Love by Zeppelin both make me lose it.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel and Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd both bring up my late, beloved brother. I miss him terribly.
