I couldn't tell you specific songs, but lots of chordal action can happen on a six string bass.

Good question. When I first started playing, like a lemming I had decided that the next bass I was going to buy had to have 5 strings soley because many of my favorite bassists played 5 ers. Then I picked up a mudvayne music book and found that 98 percent of the songs could be played on a four string at the right tuning. Plus I have small hands.
