I listened to the soundclips of the basses on fender.com. Are these the caracteristic sounds of the P and the J basses?? I mean, I like the sound of a Jbass (growly...) but these soundclips sound like sh*t. The Pbasses don't sound Bass either!!

What do you guys think??

Thanks

It sounds to me that the strings are so new they really change the sound of the basses. I like the sound of strings after a few weeks of wear, but it sounds like they put on strings that day, which gives way to much of a bouncy tone that covers up the actual tone of the bass IMO. That is mainly why they sound bad to me anyway.
