| Splitting Bass Signal - Dry and Effected?

hallo!
so, in the middle of a project where we're tracking all the bass ourselves to save time and money. i have a decent setup for recording un-mic'd, but was wondering about one thing....
what's the best way to split the signal so that i can simultaneously record a dry and effected/eq'd signal?
i'm trying to give the engineer one track that is just the bass directly into the Motu 828 MK II (our recording interface), and one track that is going through my pedalboard of effects that has a SansAmp at the end.
right now i'm just using a Female to Double Male y-splitter and sending one into my pedalboard -> an 828 input and the other side -> an 828 input.
is there a better way? am i doing it all dumb and fumbly like?
thanks! |
