Squarepusher - Solo Electric Bass 1

Sign in to disble this ad
Just got squarepusher - solo electric bass 1. I think its pretty ok...what do you guys think?

I've been in to squarepusher since his early stuff, the electronic drill n bass stuff...but i appreciate him as a bassist as well.

It sounds like he's playing a 6 string fretted, i think he plays Sei basses now.

any other comments/thoughts?

I saw the show Live at the Southbank Centre in London. I was absolutely stunned - as in proper musical/life revelation. I've been listening to most of his albums for a few years now.

I eagerly awaited the release of this CD.

However, I think something is missing in solely hearing it. There was something incredibly special about 'seeing' him produce it live. Especially his quirky stage presence - didn't seem that bothered that there was a concert hall of people in front of him! And his jam with Evan Parker was incredible (the memories are flooding back now!)

Anyway, it's a good album if you are keen to hear what can be achieved by a person and a six string bass (who isn't all about impressing other bassists with double thumbing and fretboard acrobatics - just insane musical expression).

There's my comment... for now!?
