Stanley Clarke/Stewart Copeland-as good as it gets!

I was just watching the Animal Logic videos on Youtube and stumbled across this. Stanley Clarke and Stewart Copeland together at the end of the 80's doing a bass/drum jam. That has to be about as good as it gets, I never rated Stew as a drummer until I heard him in Animal Logic (who I love, it has to be said!). Watching these two working out here reminds me of Stanley's tune "My Greatest Hits", and he really works well with just a drum beat behind him (as evidenced in the aforementioned song).

Nice to hear a bit of "If This Bass Could Only Talk" and "Basically Taps", though the editors boobed it a bit and give us a nice shot of Stan's back during the peak of the slapping section!

Still though, just an excellent video of two guys having great fun making music. It's videos like this that affirm my decision to "name" Stan as one of my favourite bassists! It's a shame the video's poster feels that way about Deborah Holland though, I'd kill to see some videos of Animal Logic live. As I've mentioned before, the band is, without a doubt, my favourite project that Stan has been involved with!

That was cool. I didn't really feel that Stewart was keeping up in that vid with Bela Fleck and Stanley tho... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgMaZ7UnEvc

Listening to this makes me think I'm gonna have to pick up Stan's new record sometime soon, I go through periods of infatuation with Stan's music it seems, though I always enjoy it!
