So for example - John Paricelli is a great UK Jazz guitarist who plays original Jazz with people like Kenny Wheeler - but has also written film scores (Cpatain Corelli's Mandolin) and I saw him on the live TV band that played for Strictly Come Dancing on the BBC!!

That's the sort of versatility that would make him ideal over a "name" rock star!
