Nice playing, but if i can give some advice it's to loosen up a little bit with your playing. Once you do that you should find the groove much much easier.

VERY nice indeed. Certainly loosening up a bit is a good idea but you really have got the basic part down pretty well. Good chops my man!

Thanks alot for the comments.

I usually play pretty loose at least I think so anyway ,but I'am trying pretty dam hard to stay in that groove and not screw up.
Its a great tune and Chuck Rainey does such a good f in job with accenting and complementing the pocket. There is alot to be learned from playin his lines.
I never slap anything so I feel like I'am barely carrying the chorus. The slap part Rainey does is so GOOD it made me decide to give slapping another go. I found that popping with my middle finger to be alot cleaner sounding and have a more natural feel. I had never tried that before.

This is the first video I have made and I have to say that it has been a great way to examine my technique.

Thanks again
Peace Chuck

You sound great. "Peg" is one of my favorite songs to play. A great bassline is like a great book. Every time you read it, you will find something new.
