i've never heard the song, but what you played sounded pretty cool...you did slow down towards the end, but otherwise, cool

The solo is from The Brothers Johnson recording Light up the night with Louis Johnson on Bass(of course).

Your version is slow and layed back(with some slight dragging) compared to the original version which is much more uptempo and the original version is more aggressive and in the listeners face(almost as if the Bass is in front of you live).

"Stomp" is an old Brothers Johnson tune.....

I'm really gassed that you're trying to get hold of some of the magic from the real master of the slapped Stingray. You've got the bulk of the work done - you already know that it needs to be tightened up a little. The best way to do this is with a metronome, or a little drum loop that sounds like the drums in the original track.

IRT getting a more authentic Louis Johnson sound, ya gotta play hard, like Louis does. New school techniques demand a much lighter touch, but aren't as forceful.

Not bad. I liken that solo to the Larry Graham solo in 'Pow'. Like the others said, it drags a little. Practice it with a metronome and you should be good to go! Good work.

Cool thx for all your opinions guys, i find it pretty tricky to slap to a metronome, but it should come with time, and ill try and be more agressive
