STONER ROCK/DOOM TBer's!!!

Today, my band Mors recorded videos of a couple of our newer songs. The songs are titled "Jeff Ranski" and "Neon Brown". Not our newest by any means, but new to the internet.

Videos are here...

www.myspace.com/morsnoise

We used some HD camera thing that my drummer got today, video is good, but the mic in it doesn't exactly like being in a tiny space with a wall of bass cabs blasting into it, so the sound is a little off from what my rig actually sounds like and it's a little distorted because of it, but it gets the job done.

Anyways, just thought I'd share. Let me know what you think and stuff.

Wait, your bass sounds distorted?

I watched the videos, and you need to move the drums away from the camera mic. All of your sweet tone is getting stomped on by those cymbals! Good stuff though, fo sho!

Alright, sometime soon, I'm going to put our demo up on our page for download. Not tonight, as I'll be at a show in Chicago, but it's something I've been meaning to do for awhile now. We give out the demos at shows most of the time anyways, so whatever.

Not many places to put the drums in our garage. Unless the drums went behind my rig or something silly like that. Calvin has made every effort in this band, to match the drums with the bass so to speak, everything is made to sound as low, and big as possible... and LOUD. Even with out guitars, it seems there is a volume war in our band... As soon as I find one on Ebay, or at a pawn shop, I'm buying another Sunn Concert Slave, and using it to run another 2x15(which will be the 5th cab), which is sitting in my room right now, and after that, I'll eventually get a 6th cab, although I have no idea what speakers size, or arrangement.

Basically, for the size venues we play right now, we don't even need to mic the bass drum, because it's loud enough on it's own. Which is fine with us.

I'm going to see if we can record a couple songs this weekend or something.

I hear ya, maybe move the camera instead of the drums? It's impressive that he can keep up with your massive dosage of volume, it just sounds a little drum heavy in the videos is all. I love what you guys are doing though, I brag about you to everyone I know that likes doom.

+1 to needing a CD, I'll engineer/produce pro bono if you need someone to twist knobs.

Metal Matt, your rig sounds absolutely EPIC! Not only in sound, but in sheer size. SO very rad.

i dunno, when we were touring together and i was mixing thrones, it was pretty damn close.. but i do hear what you mean with the blend on the top.
the granularity to the fuzz is right on with his old blue and orange superfuzz as i recall....
anyway, not to go ot, just making a compliment (great sounding stuff and it brought me back to a good time)

I love the random dude smoking behind the drummer, and the guy getting wood. Adds to the vibe.

Cool stuff Metal Matt!

The three people in the room with us are some friends of ours. Actually, the one in the Neon Brown video, that comes from behind the camera, and the kid with the hat are in my drummers other band. We have dual band practices all the time, so Calvin doesn't have to haul his drums back and forth.

The dude getting the wood is my dad. ha

Drop B, and for one song I tune the low B down to A.

I don't think it's intentional at all. I catch myself doing it all the time. Just thought you should check it out. I also thought the song "wolfram" had an intro that was waaaaaaaaaaay too long, at least for a two piece band. I like your tone and musical sensibilities, but seriously, get a guitarist. I hear they grow on trees nowadays. All in all, keep it up. What kind of bass do you play by the way?
Never in my life have I heard "Girl Tom Boy". ha But, I'm sure there's parts in all our songs that sound like parts of other songs.

The intro in Wolfram is too long? You'd hate it live then when we play the entire song as slow as we possibly can.

We have no intention of adding a guitar player, or singer, or anything right now. Only thing being added is more amps and cabs.

I play a 1978 Peavey T-40 and an Epiphone Thunderbird.

There's a link to our demo CD that we've been giving out/selling at shows. Has 3 songs on it, then two extra tracks that are explained in a text file in the download. There are some random pictures in the download as well as the front and back covers of the demo.

Download it, share it, play it loud.
