I'm currently not playing bass in a band right now so I decided to start writing some stuff. Unfortunately I write a lot of stuff and I'll have 2-3 different lines or sections and then hit a wall. I can't go any further than that, and it bites!
To compound the issue, I've having a harder time than usual getting people to play what I want to play music wise. Usually drummers are all for it, but it seems everyone that I've cultivated musical relationships with only want to do rock, punk, or country. Thus, its hard to have someone to bounce these ideas off of.
I'm tossing this up towards TB. Maybe you folks can help. My theory is awful, so please bear with me a little bit. The main line is built around diminished 7th chords (A, G, F#, E, D, C) and ends on Amaj/B. The other pattern is really simple as well, just B to A.
The more astute among you will notice that I play pattern 1 3 times, and then when it comes around I play it 4. This is intentional as its supposed to go 3 times, 4, then back to 3, then 2. I just didn't feel like playing the entire thing.
I'm having trouble counting it out properly. It makes sense in my head, and when I play it, but if you asked me the time signature you'd see a question mark floating above my head.
I'm also looking for other places to take this, but I'm totally lost.
Enough rambling. Link.
