Stumped on the mixing

Me and my friend are in a studio band called Virtual Landscapes and I feel like we aren't getting the sound we want from our mixes. I'm not sure of what software he uses and I'm not exactly fluent in the whole Db hertz lingo. I just want some advice on what aspects should be boosted and what if anything should be cut. We are going to the TesseracT style stop go kind of sound along with the Born Of Osiris type boom. Of course to our own music. This isn't the final by far, I have since got a new better bass and this file got lost when his computer crashed. But it's basicly the same thing just instead of a cort curbow bass, there's a Warwick and he has since gotten new equipment also. But anyways I digress. Here it is, opinions, thoughts, constructive criticism, FIRE.

Ps. There's no vocals as of yet. We are just trying to get the instrumentals right
