Suggest some good Rock/Classic Rock!

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm a metal head through and through; I listen to nearly all genre's of and its simply a passion of mine.

However, I also extremely enjoy a lot of rock/classic rock that I hear at the bars or on the radio, but I really don't know who its buy and what not.

Who can suggest some good rock tunes??

It must be hard to know where to start. Well, metal was born when white guys started to use heavily amplified guitars to play blues-style music. So if you want to get back to the roots of metal, check out the work of the pioneer guitar gods:
Eric Clapton (Yardbirds; John Mayall Bluesbreakers; Cream); Jimi Hendrix (the non-white exception); Jimmy Page (Yardbirds; Led Zep); Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath); Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple).

Other guitar-centered bands from 60s/early 70s:
The Who; MC5 (probably the loudest, rowdiest 60s band); Stooges; Free

Also, for the bigger picture of what was happening musically in the late 60s, make sure to watch/listen to all the acts at the original Woodstock festival (Who, Hendrix, plus thrilling stuff from Santana, Ten Years After and many others).

Look up all these acts on YouTube, Wikipedia, and Allmusic sites and you can educate yourself on the birth of modern rock for nothing.

Hope this helps.
