This is my band playing Sweet Child O Mine. We're all 13 besides the drummer, he's our science teacher
Yes, I am playing a fretless. I had to use the fretless for a variety of other peformances that day, figured it'd be interesting to play that song with it. The song is pretty much improvised on my part. I knew the root notes, that's the only part I didn't wing. The intro solo is loosley based on the original. Besides my improvistion, I think the band did great!
Please share opinions on our peformance.
Thanks so much,
Ty

I'll tell ya what, KI have certainly heard a heck of a lot worse from people 3x your age! You guys sounded pretty good.

As to the winging it, you did very well there too.

Excellent. You guys did great. Obviously, the drummer is a weak link and should be replaced with somebody more mature.

watch the lil 6 string slinger, he'll expect you to to learn how to hook up all the equipment and probably set it all up and tear it down too, and he's gonna borrow money from ya and he'll steal your girlfriend....someday....

Great job, I wish I could go back and do it all again!

Actually I already do hook up and tear down all the equipment. I'm the school's sound guy. And he has borrowed money from me. And he has made jokes about stealing my future girlfriends.. Kids these days huh?

Good job! We play this one pretty often with our covers band!

The first few gigs I played mostly roots, but there's lots of fun little fills in the bassline that I like to try and pick out, practice and impress my bandmates with!

Question: Was my intonation okay in the song? Also, Mark, the guitarist, wants to know how his solo was.
