Hey y'all,
Please check out this tasty jam that I recorded in my studio. It and several others will be released in the next month or so on CD.
You may have heard the melody before, but keep the title under wraps...I don't want no trouble, now. http://www.lennyonbass.com/tunes/UD/06%20SoMrGg.mp3
I welcome your comments.
Peace and blessings,
Lenny

Sounds great. Excellent tone from everyone, and your bass has a serious motown vibe ala Jamerson.
I want more. |

Thanks for the kind words! Very encouraging.
I can't really remember which bass I used to cut this tune (I suspect it was the Imperial), but to track the bass, I used my Avalon U5 into a MOTU 896HD.
This is by far the 'jam' of the disc. The other tunes, while all based in R&B are a bit edgier. Not 'metal' really, but definitely crunchier.
More to come...
Peace and blessings,
Lenny

I made a deliberate "artistic" decision to keep it in there. One may or may not care for that particular noise instance, and that's cool. That's what it's about, after all. I just happen to get off on it.
Thanks for noticing.
Peace and blessings,
Lenny

Great bass playing and great guitar work, but the drums...well, they're solid, but they're just...boring. As someone who has listened to and played the original many, many times, I think the drummer needed to spice it up a little bit. Other than that, I think it's pretty awesome |

Makes it hard to cencentrate on the guitar solo, which is a great thing haha.
But seriously, wicked good man, I found myself grooving pleasantly. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
