I've been really digging the song "Fischer's Gambit" by Gordian Knot lately. I decided to listen to it in headphones as opposed to a stereo, and I just noticed that the piano has a real slight delay. What are some things that you guys never noticed upon first listen?

| | | | on the first go around, I usually dont hear some effects or small fills put in, but i agree with you that when you put on headphones and give a song/album a good listen, you discover alot more. some bands have alot more in their music than you originally think.
when i find crazy cool stuff like effects or small fills or backround noise, i appreciate the music more.
widdily wah!

One thing I noticed was this dissonant piano jangley thing in the beginning of Husker Du's "Pink Turns to Blue." |

There use to be a whole site dedicaded to what those secret sounds were, like that Doom sound effect in "Where Boys Fear To Tread." Yeah yeah I know. NERD!
I know on the first Mars Volta album, I was listening to a song and thought to myself that it should have a backwards guitar part... and 2 seconds later I heard one.

I pick up new stuff all the time when I listen to Protest The Hero. Incredible band.

When you got a job to do
You gotta do it well (eeee-aahhhh)
You gotta give the other fellow hell... i remember that song when it came out and only noticed that sound within the last six months.

I never noticed it till my friend point it out.
