I really like this bass line. Do you have an idea about the equipment used recording it? do you have a sheet / tab?

Ronnie Lane used Alembic basses and different variations of Ampeg fliptops. Awesome song and bass tone! Long live the Plonk!

Have you seen the live at the BBC video? It is great, and his tone is killer. His bass on that definitely did not look like an alembic. Did you mean ampeg? That would make more sense with the fliptop, but the bass, I've never seen another like it. In any event, the faces are great.

I'm with you...I think it's Ampeg. Alembics were a little later (5-6 years down the road with Stanley Clarke, etc?).
I agree, though...the Faces were great. I always preferred them over the Stones.

The Great Ronnie Lane used a Zematis bass which is now owned by Bob Daisley ex. Rainbow and Ozzy Osbourne.

I have this show Tivo'd. It's from a show called Sounds Of Saturday (circa 70's). They're performing live in front of studio audience.

IIRC, there's an Ampeg fliptop in the backline. I have no idea what kind of bass he's playing though.

The bass tone during their whole set is KILLING!!
From the opening "3 Button Handme Down" to covers of "Maybe I'm Amazed", "Losing You" and an Ike and Tina song I don't know the name of to "Stay With Me", it's absolutely KILLING!

The whole set is great!

I finally dumped edited the audio and dumped it to my Ipod so I can listen to the set as individual songs.

PM me your email if anyone is interested in MP3's from the show\set.

To the OP, IIRC it's pretty much a I-IV-V style blues rock, with bit of variation and riffs. Shouldn't be too tough to learn the arrangement or the riffs by ear.

Reading up on Ronnie's Zemaitis bass, it is a custom one off (owned by Bob Daisley now, as mentioned before). When it was originally built, Ronnie brought Mr. Zemaitis two Fender P-bass pickups (the straight early 50's models) to load it with.

Here is an interview with Daisley about it...
