Here's the deal: you meet someone who has never heard your favorite style of music, and doesn't know anything about it. You can give them three, and only three, CDs to represent the style. Which ones do you choose, and why?
(oh, please name the style too ... I might not recognize the artists' names) |

I have a ridiculously huge music collection, with material going all the way back to 1880 and stuff that was released this year. I have things from every corner of the globe. I am as liable to slap on some Hawaiian music from the 1920s as I am to listen to some Hank Williams, Sr. or gypsy jazz or rockabilly or garage rock or Motorhead or ambient or plain noise music to punk and new wave stuff from around the world...all kinds of folk music from different cultures, doo-wop, reggae and dub...the only stuff I don't care musch for is opera, gangster rap and modern Nashville "country" stuff. Even then i occasionally hear something that I dig.

ACDC-Powerage
Tesla-Edison's Medicene
I could go on & on though. This genre (to me) is my favorite. Rock with a bluesey edge. Mix of heavy, soft, electric & accoustic. But I listen to so much more.

NDW (Neue Deutsche Well) Think post punk New Wave, usually in German. It was a great time to be German.
Monarchie und Alltag - Fehlfarben ( One of my fave albums by anyone.)
Nina Hagen Band 1st album - Like NH or not, she has serious vocal chops.
Ideal (ist album) - Another great album. |

(Except I prefer Jesus Lizard's Goat album to Liar.)
