Thumbin' with fingers solo - Wooten-into-Garrison stylee

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey chaps

I've been thinking it would be cool to mix the 4 finger Matt Garrison stuff with some of the Wooten open hammer pluck stuff for a while and I've just started to get it together - this is my first attempt at recordings it so apologies for some of the randomness and it's a bit fast but the basic idea is coming together - I hope. Anyway let me know your thoughts - I'll do something slower soon.

Cheers for watching

Mike

There were a lot of notes there, but I really enjoyed it!

Exclamation

You definitely have your own sound when using that technique. I would like to see another video in a month or so.

Thanks Chris - I still need to get this 'funkin' and a groovin' better - but I just let this happen - so it's a bit stream-of-conciousness type playing - but I reckon it sounds nicer than all that clanky slapping stuff I used to do.

Cheers for checking it out

AW BLOODY HELL!!! I feel so humbled...... I wish I could see exactly what you;re doing!

Sure its "random", but I love the technique. Minimally used, as in a lead in to a solo, or even a short riff, I think its "style exemplified!" Flippin' awesome --- GROOVE ON!

I dunno, I liked your slapping, especially the more "fusion" kinda stuff!

Yeah I actually need to pratice that stuff a bit more... the old double thumbing is getting a bit rusty!
