Times 4 - Relations (Good Funk Jazz)

I stumbled upon this recording by Times 4, a Bay-Area based funky jazz group, on emusic.com. If you are into semi-aggressive instrumental jazz with a funky edge, this is some of the better I've heard recently. Sort of a Yellowjackets kind of thing.

The bass player is throwing down some great stuff on the record. His tone said Fodera to me, but when I checked the website he had a Lakland in all the pictures. If it's a Lakland, he's getting some of the more compelling tone I've heard out of one.

Thanks, glad you like the stuff! The "Give It Back" recodring is brand new.

The name predates me, but it's good fun when people of Eastern European backgroun show up and know what it means.

I've been digging this CD this weekend, Kevin Lofton sounds great! I love the rhythm section, I can tell they have been playing together awhile.
