My band have been messing about with recording a little bit lately, and while we're definately getting a much better sound than we used to, there is plenty of room for improvement and I'm sure some of you could help us out a bit!!

Only one song up right now, which we did "live" and overdubbed some vocal parts and the guitar solo. What are the main areas in which it could be improved? I think that the vocals need some more compression and maybe turning down in places, but after that I'm stumped. Tips for bass would be especially appreciated by me! I used a SansAmp DI (first time I'd ever used one) and my Zoom B2.1u, and I added a bit more compression with ProTools and tried my best at EQing it a bit. Boosted the mids around 500k, rolled off the top end a bit and that's about it. I'm not great at that sort of thing.
That song is a bit of a bad example, as most of our songs are a lot more rocky than that, but in my head the bass is a lot more growly than it is in the recording. I was thinking perhaps in the future it'd be worth miking up my cab aswell as using a DI?
Thanks!
