Tom Sawyer...JAZZ version (The Bad Plus)

Sign in to disble this ad
On CBC Radio 1 tonight (10:30pm ish) I heard a Jazz Trio version of Tom Sawyer by a band called The Bad Plus.

I was totally blown away, these guys had to be rush fans growing up!

I really wish I could find a link to the studio recording (scrambling to find one). Heres a YT vid

I would love to hear what you think of it.

Ha ha, love that! Those guys are most excellent. My brother gave me the CD with "Teen Spirit" on it, that's how I discovered them. Too cool!

The bad plus is an awesome band. They have a cd out that is full of rock and pop covers including this...smells like teen spirit..and a bowie tune or two , plus more.

Not a huge Jazz fan, but I have a couple Bad Plus albums. They are a unique breed.

I wish I could hear a better recording. Cool nonetheless.

very good (it would be nice to hear a recording), you should check out a band called project, they're new and only have 1 (impossible to pirate) CD called winter in june, but they are very original jazz artists, i think they're a trio with a beat-boxing flutist, double bass, and cello player.

here's a video of them

****ing sick musicians
