Anyone else looking forward to this?! I am. I downloaded the 3 free tracks and then the advance track from Emusic and I'm really digging it. I love him in the slower, story-teller mode. I think I've read that it's going to be 3 discs.
Anyway...here's to Tuesday.

I was lucky enough to see TW a couple of months ago and it's always fun to hear where his mind is going.... |

| | | | Cool... thanks for the info. He recently did a concert in Detroit, but it sold out in one day. While the newer stuff is a little 'out' for me, I love the 'classics'. I'll keep my eye out for the disc.

Just out of curiosity how did you guys discover Tom Waits? |

then one morning i woke up on my friends couch and he had Jesus Gonna Be Here playing really loud and i just laid their and listened to the rest of the album. i have been hooked ever since. |

Just out of curiosity how did you guys discover Tom Waits? | I was turned onto him by noticing that a number of tunes I really liked back in the day (Bruce Springsteen's version of 'Jersey Girl', The Eagles version of 'Old 55', Shawn Colvins 'Saturday Night', etc.) were all written by the same guy!
I hunted down his 'Used Song's 'best of' CD a while ago... very cool stuff! |

I was first introduced to Tom Waits by a drummer of mine in college. Seeing him live this year is one of my fondest concert memories. |

| | totally deeeeef on the hi-hat side | | Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Seattle | | | I first came across him back in high school at the end of the eighties with the albums Heart of Saturday Night, Foreign Affairs, etc. I've been into him ever since. It took me awhile to get into his later stuff but I think Mule Variations is one of his, if not the, best. His last couple have been a tad disappointing so I'm really looking forward to this release.

I actully decided to check him out when I read an article about Les Claypool, and Claypool said that he would rather buy an album by Waits than a 'bass player' album. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
