yeah i've been listening to him for 12 years or so. he's great. I have his live in st louis dvd and centre stage which is a double live acoustic set. he is a complete performer, charming, witty, and one of the best on the instrument. i have a friend who used to go down for the chet atkins appreciation society concerts and he met tommy a few times there. he says he is amazing to watch live. my friend is quite a good player himself and says that tommy's style is one of the hardest to play ( the style that was developed by chet atkins and merle travis - playing a moving bass line with the rhythm and melody parts voiced as well ) and showed me some of the beatles medley and told me he can't believe what a finger buster it is and to play it at speed, with seemingly no effort and night after night is a testimony to the hours and miles that tommy has put on in a close to 50 year professional career. i like a lot of guitarists, but tommy is one of the few that truly mesmerize me.

A friend of mine, a guitar player who's totally into him, dragged me along to see Tommy live in concert. Not my style (I'm a classic metal-head) but Tommy is hugely talented, and a great entertainer. Also: opening for him was another great guitarist (an Aussie also, forgot his name) Quite an entertaining evening!!
