Tone Check... Give me some opinions on this in a mix... Valenti/Nordstrand P5

Ok just restrung my Valenti with some different strings I didnt care for the Sadowsky strings.. Im a DR man..

Just need some opinions on the tone..

DR Marcus Miller Strings
Nordstrand Custom Wound P5 pickup
Aguilar preamp set flat.
Line6 Toneport GX using the Tube Pre from the add on Bass pack No SIM..

No Post Work at all.

sounds pretty good to my ears, im a dr guy too,loriders ss for me though i actually thought the marcus miller strings felt a little stiff.but some people like higher tension strings.

can't evaluate much, because the tune doesn't move around much...but what you did show, particularly the B-string...sounds GREAT

nice, well-defined B that's has a nice tight bottom...

It fits in the mix. The bass is a little bit louder than P-Nut's mix on the original cut (I went back and listened to it for comparison.) Also, the strings are pretty bright, but when you use em more, that'll obviously change (In a good way, mind you). I do really like the tone you were getting, though. Try some Jamiroquai, I think you'll find that the Nordstrand P combo lets you really play around with the tone and hit stuff that sounds at least as good as Zender's tone, maybe not crazy his fills though.
