I'm referring to 1:41.
We all know he is an awesome tapper, but is this possible? Or is it just bad editing?
Before you respond: I'm a big Levin fan, no flaming/torching/burning/overcooking intended.

I heard an interesting interview with him where he said he was VERY frustrated that he played this wildly funky bass part for "Big Time" and Peter ended up leaving only a 4 bar riff of his track in. The rest was a Synclavier bass.

Levin may not have even done his little dance at this point in the performance, but at some other time and then edited in. And, I would not be surprised if a lot of the music was re-recorded (including the bass), as if OFTEN the case for so-called "live" performances.
I've seen so-called live performances made from multiple days performances - as long as the venue and costuming is consistent.
I'll vote for a combination of all the above.
Levin IS the real-deal. |

| | | | Levin 100% agree!
It's due to the video editing and not a playing issue.
Levin is the real deal. |

Chances are they recorded several shows worth of audio and video and picked the best video and audio separately. The editor probably went "lets cut to the bald guy with his fist in the air here, that's cool looking" not knowing what a bass is or does. |

The editor has some input but is basically the mule on the session, like a recording engineer.

RIPOFF! | But he's still good enough for his hologram to be able to play a real bass.
