Tracks from my band

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, I guess this is the right place for a little promo, request for criticism. My band Barefoot Manner is actually having a new CD printed right new called Consonance. On our myspace site we have 4 tracks to check out.

Check them out, and feel free to make comments, I got a pretty strong stomach so if you don't dig anything, feel free to say so. I was a co-producer on it so it will only help me in the future. Thanks.

Wow, that's a really wide range of music for the same cd. Excellent bass playing. I dig Coming to Grips except for when you switch to the slap bass section. Was the bass mic'd or recorded direct. The slap sound seems a bit overdriven. I'm not a fan of P basses but you make it sound good. Good job. In fact, what bass/basses did you use?

That slap sound in there is the p/j, just a 76 p with a j added. It really does have kinda a weird slap sound on it, but that is an interesting observation that I'll keep in mind. ALL of it is the P except on 2 o clock it was a F bass, but the little slap break is the P again, and I think that has a little bit of an overdriven tone as well. Everything but Two O clock was miced and direct, but sure which one really came out in the mix, but I was thinking about trying to find a sadowsky in town at one point, but then just decided to get it done. In the future I'll give a little more consideration to that

and yes, the band is all over the place thanks!

AWESOME tunes, I especially liked two o' clock. I'm not really even a huge bluegrass fan, but I loved the bluegrass sections, and you go in alot of different directions anyway. I'm an AMMMAAATTTUUURREEE mandolin player, so I was digging that, and of course the bass too.

Keep it up
