Trying to get myself in the Holiday Spirit...

What's your favorite bassline from a Christmas/Holiday song?

Mine would probably have to be "Christmas Wrapping" by The Waitresses. Pretty much HATE the rest of the tune (LOL!), but Tracy Wormworth's line is killer!

Anyone want to chime in?

Bela Fleck and Flecktones have a new XMas album out. Heard enough of the material live to realize it worked well both as seasonal music and for music geeks, year-round. Really cool arrangements!

christmas time is here, the original recording (WITHOUT THE SINGING)

Oh, definitely... That entire album ("A Charlie Brown Christmas" by the Vince Guaraldi Trio) is the best. I even dig the version of 'Christmas Time Is Here' with the vocals!

The only reason I didn't mention that album is because it's solely done on upright (not that that's a bad thing...) - just wanted to mainly keep it to a BG discussion.

Nat King Cole's "Christmas Song" album is right up there for me too!
