Trying to learn Jungle Love by ear

Sign in to disble this ad
I consider myself to have a very good ear. I can usually figure songs out by the time they're finished. But for some reason I'm having an awful time figuring this song out. What I'd like to know is if anyone has any input on why this particular song would be bothering me. Does SMB tune a little off or something? Is it possible to have an ear for some keys and not others?

Please don't give me a tab, I want to struggle through this. I'd just like to know why this would be happening.

I don't think it's out of tune. Miller has a great ear.

The bass line in the verses is quirky with little punches and swoops rather than holding a "standard" groove.
Doesn't always play the notes you would expect!

The treatment on the choruses is a more conventional running rock line.

Fun song!
