Tunes that the bassist nails to perfection

This might be an interesting discussion to start, or revive. Title is mainly self-explanatory. Basslines can be simple, complex, subdued or upfront - just post 'em if they've really nailed the track to perfection.

Jamerson posts can be pretty much taken as included in the concept, but feel free to post them anyway.

I'll start us off with some masterful simplicity.

Here, I'll post one of my fave songs, Zakk Wylde's Sold My Soul, from the Book Of Shadows, truly killer bassin' IMO, both tone and playing.

Bassist was James LoMenzo.

Prince - When Doves Cry - YouTube I think Jason Newsted played on this one.

All kidding aside, I think Led Zeppelin - What Is and What Should Never Be - YouTube is all that and a bag of chips.

Not to be outdone by this Steely Dan - Peg (With Lyrics) - YouTube

bassybill, this is one of those threads that I hope goes for twenty or more pages. TB has such a diverse membership that we can hope to be exposed to things we have not heard of before. This to me is one of the things that keeps me coming back to the forum. It's a given that my knowledge of technique and gear have been enriched by our membership, but the true whipped cream and cherry on top is the new (to me) artists and music posted that I would likely never have discovered on my own.

I know that I picked some low hanging fruit, but I really think that JPJ and Rainey hit those out of the park.

At least I didn't post Jaco or Vic.
