Cool tZer Does The Waitresses

Another in the line of "tZer Does..." clips.

I have always been a HUGE fan of Tracy Wormworth's line in the Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping" so I sat down this afternoon and got to learnin' it.

I really didn't "learn" it completely - but I did get the part that is most fun (that KILLER verse!) down pretty well so I did the old "mix out all the lows and record it with me playing" trick and it came out pretty well (for a slam-dunk).

Hope you enjoy it! As always, I welcome comments and critiques.

"Christmas Wrapping" with Tony Z copping Tracy Wormworth's outstanding line!

just an eq - dropping all the low frequencies. It works well to "remove" the bassline, but it also removes a boatload of the "body" of the rest of the music. But for you to hear how you line measures up, it works really well.

Thanks for commenting - I was getting a little despondent. LOL

well, sounds good. I am expecting a Korg Pandora with a bass cancel feature on it, I wonder how it will measure up. I never thought of recording myself with the original tracks though, fascinating........

Another dude here did it with "I want you Back" by the Jackson 5 -He explained how he just dropped the low freqs. and played along and I thought, "DING! What a concept!" If you really dig a bass line, learn it and want to know if you are getting it, this is a great way do to just that. Your ears and head can only handle so much I/O while you are playing so having your line in with the tune is priceless.

I am curious about your Korg. Be sure to post some feedback about it when you get it. It would be a cool thing to be able to "extract" the bass without having the overall mix go "low-less".
