Cool

Cool, man - good stuff!

The only suggestion I'd make is to possibly add some sort of bridge passage (or "middle eight", as the Beatles called it ) somewhere in the tune, to break up the (cool) four chord structure a bit. The rhythmic switches in there help, but the song would also benefit from what I mentioned earlier. It opens a song up a bit and then coming back to the original sequence almost resolves it (like a story - beginning, middle & end, if that makes sense).

Other than that, I liked it! Your singer has good stage presence - you guys kinda remind me of Chi-Town's version of The Hives... which is a good thing!

Keep at it & good luck!

^ Thanks - there is a bridge in the song towards the end, hmmm, maybe the transition isn't clear enough during the performance though for it to stand out. I do a cool thing where I hold on the root C and do a chromatic down from the fifth. Maybe there needs to be some space to intensify that part though - I get what you're saying.

Chi-town Hives - I'll take that as a compliment for sure! Those guys are maniacs! Funny thing, our guitar player actually hates The Hives though, LOL.

Thanks for your time!

You got it, ST...

I went back & listened to the part you mentioned. Very cool (adds a nice bit of tension & slight dissonance). Like you said, it might be a bit too late in the song, or there's the possibility of adding a whole other section earlier on maybe?

But hey - to date I haven't won any songwriting Grammys, and I haven't been referred to as the "Sixth Sapien" yet, so what the heck do I know?

The bottom line is the crowd was diggin' you guys, and THAT'S what it really comes down to, not "middle eights", right?

Once again, good luck to you! I think you have a myspace "friend request" in your future!

That'd be nice... although I'd rather a point on the royalties!

Thanks for the compliments! We do have a blast playing live...it's turning out to be a lot of work to get to the larger venues (or getting new fans to come to the larger venues) in our area, but once we hit the stage, if there's 10 or 1000 people in the crowd, we'll put on a show so everyone can get their moneys worth!
