I really liked the first one, but sorry, I just can't get into the second one. The tone was just "dead". I would have liked it if it were much brighter, but that's just me.

Great job on both videos though.

I want to do the Hipshot Drop-D on the E string on my fretless too.

It's quite interesting the Drop-D
Two weeks ago I was recording in studio with a singer, and I used the D drop for few songs.
However, the problem is that the tuning it's not so stable and, if you don't have to switch just in the middle of the song, you can just tune the lower D at the beginning.

Since I use this bass I used this option few times, however.

Very nice, enjoyed them both. Drop D is very cool on fretless but it does throw things off a bit, one of my fretless basses is permanently in drop D for that reason.

I'm new but I really like TalkBass Community, it's really usefull to share ideas and music with other musicians.

I'm trying to find out a different sound from the classical fretless bass sound
