ok, so its mentioned in the megadeth remasters thread and i just got my email update from audiophile imports saying that vinnie colaiuta is playing on the new megadeth album. am i the only one that thinks this is very strange

Absolutely not - Vinnie's \m/etal because he can play pretty much any style or genre.

Take a listen to the "Queen of the Damned" soundtrack. A good deal of those nu-metal-ish tracks have none other than Vinnie C. on them. I will say it was a bit of a surprise the first time I read the liner notes, though.

From what I hear (Die Dead Enough), the new Megadeth album will kick ass, and the drumming is definitely awesome. Yeah, Vinnie is no Nick Menza, but he can still get the job done for Megadeth. Oh well... we'll find out for sure in a little over 2 weeks!
