David Bowie is another one.
Justin Timberlake
Glenn Hughes (I think of him as more vocalist than bassist)

I also like Amy Winehouse's vocal stylings, no matter how cracky she appears.

Check out the newest one "Afterglow" if you dig "Fumbling". Erykah Badu, Sara Barelles, A Fine Frenzy, Colbie Caillat, Sia Furler, Corinne Bailey Rae, Sade, Ani DiFranco, Natalie Merchant, Sarah Bettens, Michelle Branch, Fiona Apple all get regular playlist time.
Peter Gabriel just keeps getting better, I feel "Up" is his best effort to date... the man just keeps bettering himself! Edwin McCain, Seal, Remy Shand, Musiq Soulchild, Lenny Kravitz, Counting Crows all are frequent to my playlists as well. |

"Khaled" and "N'ssi N'ssi" by Khaled (amazing vocals AND funky)
"Soro" and "Folon ...The Past" by Salif Keita
"Live" by Donny Hathaway (a voice like thick honey)
"Who Is Jill Scott?" by Jill Scott
"Seal" (1st album) by Seal
Anything by Steel Pulse (I've always loved David Hinds' voice - one of my favourites in the world of pop)
"Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite" by Maxwell (the sound of smooth - and some sweet bass playing)
"Galactica Rush" by Jhelisa (a lick of British soul never hurt anyone...)
"Hold On - I'm Coming" by Sam & Dave (they just don't make 'em like this anymore...) |
