I am a regular watcher of American Idol mainly for Ricky Minor and his band. The dude just tears up most of the covers they do on the show. I have heard ALOT of good stuff about Randy Jackson's bass playing but I have never heard him. Is there anyway that I can find some recordings or videos of him playing bass on the internet? Thanks!! |

| | | | You might start with some of his early work with Jean-Luc Ponty, the jazz violinist....check out his wikipedia article, I think there's a good discography there. He's a MONSTER! |

He's done a lot of fusion work and toured with Journey for a while. He segued into production and band leading for Whitney Houston and others. I would consider him the most qualified to be on that American Idol panel! Why Paula Abdul is up there critiquing folks is a mystery to me! |

T.M. is also co-writer of that song and played on the other R&B hit from that same album titled "Tonight I'm Alright"!

If that's TM he's doing one of the best Leon Sylvers impersonations I've heard. |
