Wanted to share this.

My originals band, Zero City, broke up about 2 months ago. The frontman and main songwriter decided he just wasn't into it anymore. I just wanted to share a song that never got to see the light. I wrote the main riff. The guitarists added the chorus and bridge parts. This is a pretty rough recording done at band practice. Guitar cabs were mic'd and sent to a mixer, I was direct from my Mesa BB750 to the mixer, and i think there were 3 overhead mic's for the drums. We had only been working on this for a few weeks before this recording, so it's pretty much a rough draft (emphasized by the critiquing at the end of the recording )

I think I'm just about over the bitterness I felt over this break up. I was pretty proud of the work we had done. I'm already working on a new project with the drummer from this band. Completely different style. Hopefully I'll have some recordings to share sometime soon.

Thumbs up

Cool, I particularly liked the guitar staccato part after the lower key middle.

I checked it out as well...that is very simple and catchy, and with no vocalline, it tends to make me want to "ADD" it.

I have written many many vocal lines for people who dump instrumental jams in my lap, and this one is an "easy" target for a nice melodyline for vocals...ALSO I know it's a rough-cut, but at the break around 3 minutes, I would have gone nutz on the bass as a cool soloing area...

That's actually pretty cool! I like the main riff and the bass tone, and as amimbari said it seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to add a vocal line too. Mind you I couldn't write one but I'm saying it's very open to a possibility of a vocal line.

Yeah, we were still working/waiting on vocals for this one. And with the band broken up, this is about as done as it'll probably ever get. If you're feeling so inclined to add some vocals, I certainly wouldn't object. I kind of had a vocal melody worked out in my mind. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a singer.
