We go into the studio next week, a quick question regarding cabs..

Next week we're going into the studio to record our first pro-quality demo. My rig is a Hartke 3500 into a LabSystems 410HC. Now, I'm borrowing an Ashdown head off a friend to use in the studio, not sure what type exactly, but I'm unsure as to whether I should use my LabSystems cab or the 8x10 that he has paired with the head? Thoughts?

We play hard rock type stuff.

Thanks!

Try and get an opportunity to a/b them with his head before you go into the studio, and just take the one sounds best to you.

Yeah, I'm really hoping that I get a chance to do that but can't be sure that I will. I've used an Ashdown 4x10 before, would it sound pretty similar to that? A lot warmer than my LabSystems but not as punchy..

Yeap they sound very simular.

I own an Ashdown 410, and have played the 810 in the past. Very difficult to tell them apart in my opinion, tone wise.

I wouldnt exactly describe them as warm cabs, but each to his own. But i wouldnt say they were punchy either. Well rounded perhaps?

Never played a labsystems so the decision is all yours.
