Hey,
I'm the bassist in a band called Distorted View.
We don't have many recordings (good recordings), apart from Unreal.
Please could you check us out and give us some feedback.
We haven't recorded in ages, or had a gig in ages, but we're gigging in Summer time, well first gig in May and we finish at July.
Here is our MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/distortedviewdv
Thanks
P.S
We've gotten much better at writing songs, playing our instruments and singing.
They're all our old songs, our newer ones are much more fast and we're now exploring Drop D in a few songs.

I have been listening to a lot of individuals songs on myspace lately, and to be honest, have been bored by a lot of them. Your stuff sounded fun, and different. It almost sound like a lot of people are trying too hard, and taking all the fun out of it.
Keep it up and work hard. Do what you like! The longer you play, the better you will get. You can always find thing you need to improve on. Just listen honestly to your music, you'll do well.
Good luck!

You'll tighten up as you play more and begin to make more deliberate decisions about your role as a member of the rhythm section and how you coordinate with your drummer and the rest of the band. Time really is everything.
Happy playing. |

S.O.S was probably my favorite. There are a few 'oh ****' moments in there from the drummer but as you get tighter you should be good. I didn't like the vocals in Unreal as much as SOS where the singer kinda reminded me of early Brand New.
I think you guys have a lot to do, but for your age its great. |

Our songs are totally different to how they are on our MySpace, we've moved away from the 'Punk' like songs. Which is good, 'cos only the lead singer really likes Punk, ha.
Cheers

I have to admit that when I clicked the link I was thinking, "This is probably going to suck because of how young he is" but you certainly surprised me! Keep up the good work! |

You can only progress, i recomend u and the rest of the band get music lessons as this can help u progress so much especially as a bassist and broarden the bands u listen to, this does necisarily change your style but broardens ur mind on all the different styles of music which will make your writing so much greater because you will know more options of sound and riffs.

| | | | Dude loving the music, especially SOS. Though with the drummer, get him/her to try try and use the crash more. Oh wait not sure if it's lack of use of cymbals or drum kits available
Still a hella nice sound anyway! |

| | | | Now that reminds me of the good old days.
I didn't know kids still made punk bands.
Though all of them where into emo or various made up genres of metal.
keep it up not bad. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
