What amp do you use for recordings and why?

I'm using a hartke 3500, which has a kinda oldschool sound to it. I'm plugging it into apogee duet and using logic pro as program.

What about you?

GK MB115, because it's the only amp I own!

Ampeg B100-R because it sounds incredible, and it's really the perfect size amp for studio work. I mic it with a Sennheiser MD 421 or an AKG C414.

I also blend with a DI, either my BSS Audio AR-133 or my Radial J48. The DI goes to a focusrite trakmaster and the mic goes to a DBX 386 tube pre.

I use a Markbass F1 amp because it does a good job of reproducing whatever bass I put into it.

A mid-60s ampeg sb-12 fliptop. It's perfect - a little color and compression, natural low roll-off, and totally free of hum or buzz.

I dont bring an amp to the studio, only a DI. Then I plug in and work the bassline and the engineer does the rest.
