What equipment?

Hi, I'm a new bassist and was figuring out how to do some recordings for cheap and how to get them on the PC. Any ideas?

This is my setup [If you actually have a lil' bit a dough to spend than you can probably buy a better mic and a better mixing program]

$10 microphone
some sort of stand or just something to put the mic on.
Download and learn to use Audacity(it's free but is much more than I bargained for in a free program, even gets rid of background hiss)

Does anyone know how to convert tapes to the PC?

plug the headphone of your tape player to the input of the computer and use Audacity.
