Javier Martin is their monster bass player.

Javier Martin is their monster bass player. | that sounds real cool, i have to check that out. i've been listening to a lot of latin/iberian music lately.
what i've been digging:
julieta venegas (mexico)- solid groovy playing on all her albums
aterciopelados (colombia)- hector is one of my all-time favourites.
breaks co-op (new zealand) - warm fuzzy loopy goodness.
stereolab (france/england)- wicked awesome rhythm section.
los fabulosos cadillacs (argentina) - flavio is KING!
and my latest craze: pacha massive (NY) - tasty bass playing.

I'll do some research on the others you listed, too.

which is a shame - cuz there are some fun threads
going ; )
Bob Berg - Enter The Spirit
I actually rediscovered this one recently. Possibly Berg's
finest era. He plays his ass off , and Genus, Chambers
& Kikoski are no slouchers either...
Michael Brecker - Time Is Of The Essence
Mike's death last month was quite a blow, and having finally
come to terms with the fact I'm not going to see him live -
I'm catching up on my listening. Bass-free though.
Organ quartet ; )
Both Mike & Pat are incredible soloists, with such a large
vocabulary...
Miles Davis - Relaxin' With The MD Quintet
Old-school. My mentor's keep telling me I can't JUST study
the new guys, plus you gotta know the tunes if you wanna
jam ; ) |
