what key do you play "Angel" in?

Hi all, I have to learn Hendrix's "Angel" real fast. Jimi seems to play in one of those "half-tunings", and I can't really tell whether it starts in E or Eb. Any hints or suggestions? Thanks!

No one?

I figured it out, it starts in Eb, and the main verse is in F.

A lot of the tabs on the 'net are wrong.

Anyway, it doesn't much matter, right? As long as the singer can handle it, and the guitar+keyboards+bass are aligned.

I say "E"...can you tell if it's a Low OPEN "E" being played on the bass? To me, that should be a clue.
IIRC, "Beat It" sounded like "Eb"...clearly an Open "E" was being played on the bass by Steve Lukather. So, it was-
a)Do the song in "Eb" & de-tune(5-string basses were very rare back then).
b)Do the song in "E"
We did the song in "E".

A few issues back, Bass Player had Cream's "Politician" transcribed...I learned it in "Ab"(IIRC). Bass Player asked Bruce about that & he said he was sure it was in "A"; he mentioned how there weren't tuners back then & they just used their ears.
Hendrix' "Angel" tuning could be similar to Bruce's story.
Close enough for jazz, huh?
