What is the most boring song to play?

Sign in to disble this ad
"Practicing" White Wedding, hitting the same note (B) for 8 x ?!? bars, I am thinking to myself... is there anything more boring to play?

The little intro is cute and fun, but that's it. It comes back for 2 bars, and then back to root 8.

And there is nothing else you can play... If you over complicate it, it becomes a different song.

Seriously, we need to add some songs to our set list fast so we can keep it going for 3 hours (yeah, bar gigs, beer selling business) and we need easy songs.

You could always play Runnin with the Devil and pluck on that E string for a bit.

If I never play you really got me again, I'll be happy. BUT..... Every time we play the first few notes of it, the dancefloor gets busy.

Keep Your Hands to Yourself...cool song but totally ruined for me along with a handful of others that we've overdone.

Everyday People. Who did that? Sly? I love that song. But it would come under the "boring to play" category for those who like to play more than one note for an entire song

For me... in my band.. Jumping Jack Flash.. I stop counting and just play those darn bars over and over again while my guitarist flails for like... i dunno... 55 bars of it. BORING! I can fall asleep doing it.

I'm sure there are plenty of others but if I never had to play those again I would be a happy man!

BTO - Takin' Care Of Business.

Any Ramones song. I Wanna Be Sedated springs to mind.

ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man (A lot of ZZ Top is not quite what you'd call a bass workout)

Jefferson Airplane - Somebody to Love

And yeah, we do all four.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath. I like the riff but repeating it virtually throughout the entire song is monotonous.
