As I recall, n00bs are teh suck.

I don't understand why people record themselves at the beginner level. Why not wait until your decent to make a recording to post on YouTube?

Why not record when you suck? When you get better you can have something to look back on and go, "Wow, I suck."

I have those recordings, and I've kept them to myself, well, I've deleted them now. I'm STILL not to the point where I'd post anything solo on YouTube after 8 years, but then again, I'm just not very good. After a week though, I was more concerned with learning how to play the bass than recording myself.

Everone had a starting point. That's actually not too bad after 1 week. You can actually fret pretty well. I had a heck of a time keeping the string pressed down without buzzing my first month. One day you'll be flying up and down the fret board. You just have to stay motivated and NEVER compare yourself to another player. You are your own person with your own style. The moment we start comparing is the moment we start losing faith in our own progress. You'll get there in no time.

I don't think I've ever felt so sorry for a bass, and I've seen basses set on fire/smashed.
