This is for members of bands that do original music, obviously, but what one song do you feel you must cover at some point in your music career?
Mine is:
Roxy Music "In Every Dream Home A Heartache"
I have conversations based off this question with other musicians I know, so I wanted to see what TBers thought. |

I'd do it with more banjoistic sensationalism |

It would be really cool to pull off "Dog Problems" by the Format. If for no other reason than to have a tuba on stage. |

It just seems like both songs the entire band is having fun in their parts, the sort of parts musicians wish they could do all the time.

| | | | Once we get a real horn section for the band, I shall demand we play Echinda's Arf (of you) by Frank Zappa. I just love that song sooo much and I don't know why. It just works for me. The bass line is somewhat tricky too.
One tune we've just started learning is rhythm & business by tower of power. Love that song too, fun bass line. Its been fun decoding and transcribing. (Damn you Rocco and your ghost notes that "blend in" to everything else!). I think I've got the hardest part on that tune. Originally I wanted to do what is hip, but decided I liked this song better. (Its much harder to play) |

I had a band once that had the chops to get through it in rehearsals but never made it to a gig.
