Cool What are you sleeping/relaxing to?

I almost need music in order to fall asleep. I actually have a "Chill" playlist on my iPod of stuff I listen to when I sleep. Most of it is soft dance stuff, fusion, or world music.

Here's some of the the stuff I listen to to relax:

The Pat Metheny Group

Samantha James

Weekend Players

Various LifeScapes CDs
from Target

And some video games soundtracks...

What music gets you nice n' chilled out?

Definitely check out Barzin for some down tempo acoustic tunes. I heard one of his songs and immediately bought his CD. It is great music.

I also like the scores from Man on Fire and Crash. The Decemberists and Neutral Milk Hotel have some relaxing songs too. A couple of their songs have been showing up in my random playlist and it's been nice getting back into them.

I like to listen to stuff like:

Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Boards of Canada
Aphex Twin's Ambient works
Emeralds (can't find anything to share, but it's beautiful soft drone.)

Aeon: Satanic Victory. Nothing like extreme metal to soothe the troubled mind.

Brian Eno. Lots of Brian Eno.

+1 on the Godspeed, as well.
