Rush "Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland"
Legendary bass work by Geddy Lee. Legendary.
+1, that was cool as hell. I liked his little spaz-out at the end of "Leave That Thing Alone" especially, and the way they jazzed up "Working Man" kicked ass.

Groovy Situation - Gene Chandler (I do not know who the bass player is on this song)
Scorpio - Dennis Coffey (Bob Babbitt)
What's Going On - Marvin Gaye (Jamerson made me fall in love with the bass)
Basically any album by The Stranglers, but in particular the first three albums: Rattus Norwegicus, No More Heroes, Black & White has some pretty amazing basslines on them.

A rare one-Burnin' at the Stake by The Domenic Troiano Band with Neil Jason on bass (1975). I can't find a recording online, but most of my pre-Vic slap licks came from that record. http://www.allmusic.com/album/burnin...e-mw0000842429
